Multi-modal transports are used more and more often in international transport systems.
This transport is distinguished by its:
- organization,
- responsibility,
- documentation and
- standardized legal regulations for such transport process, where two or more ways of transport are combined at the same time.
The society Viator & Vektor Logistika implements multi-modal transports in accordance with the Convention of the UN on the International Multi-Modal Transport from the year 1980.
What is a multi-modal transport?
Multi-modal transports are a technology where two modern means of transport from two different branches are used at the same time for the transport of goods. In this case the first means of transport, including its cargo, becomes the cargo for the second means of transport from the other transport branch. This kind of transport must be implemented between two contracts on the basis of only one transport contract.
